The director and scriptwriter Agustín Díaz Yanes (Madrid, 1950) is one of the most prestigious film makers working today. He won the Goya Prize for both direction and scriptwriting for Nadie hablará de nosotras cuando hayamos muerto (1995). In 2001 he directed Sin noticias de Dios and in 2006 Alatriste, an adaptation of Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s bestseller. In 2008 he released Sólo quiero caminar. He is President of the Association of Literary Authors of Audiovisual Media and Simpatía por el diablo is his first novel.
