Dani el Rojo was born in Barcelona in 1962. He gave up his criminal life after getting out of prison and started to work on marketing artists. His literary experience started with a trilogy based on his criminal life made up of the titles Confesiones de un gánster de Barcelona (winner of the Rodolfo Walsh Prize for the best work of non-fiction at the Semana Negra de Gijón), El gran golpe del gánster de Barcelona and Mi vida en juego.
