Eduardo Garrigues has been able to combine his diplomatic career with his literary vocation and passion for the great outdoors. The vibrant landscapes of the African continent have already provided the setting for his books Lluvias de hierba (published by Macmillan and Planeta) and La dama de Duwisib (Ediciones Martínez Roca). Their protagonist, Jayta Humphreys, arrives in south-east of Africa in search of solitude on a desert ranch and finds herself embroiled in the conflict between the native population and the white society that wants to maintain its colonial privileges at all costs.
