Julio Medem (San Sebastián, 1958) is one of the most famous filmmakers of his generation, and has won several awards. His films include Cows, Lovers of the Arctic Circle, and Room in Rome. Although he is completely dedicated to cinema and writing, he has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country and was a successful athlete in his youth.
