This diary was written by the Grand Duchess Olga in Italy in 1955. Political and religious pressure prevented its publication then, as the ‘Pact of Silence’ was still in force because some people who had actively participated in the flight were still alive and little information or documentation about it was available. Today, the unpublished text can finally see the light of day.
